For the 2000 Sterling Scholar competition, I was required to create a portfolio of my experience and accomplishments in various categories. These categories were:
- Scholarship
- Scholarship in my category of expertise (Computer Technology)
- Citizenship
- Leadership
In order to further supplement my resume, feel free to browse through my portfolio. The files were created in Microsoft Word, and are quite large. They are so large because the images were scanned at a resolution that was suitable for high quality printing.

An excerpt from the Deseret News, Thursday, February 24, 2000:
(Full article)
Richard Christiansen, a senior at Highland High School, walked the halls of Murray High School, patiently waiting for his 4:20 p.m. interview in the computer technology category.
"Computers have always intrigued me," said Christiansen, who was 6 years old when his parents first gave him a computerized toy. "The one thing that attracts me to computers is that I can do things that have never been done before."
He planned to show the judges a few original computer programs and several Web site designs.
"I like the Internet," he said. "It is all about communication. There is so much out there."
